This clip shows Japanese Giant Hornets and Asian Honeybees. Both are very different from their European counterparts, in terms of individual size, size of colonies, tactics, lethal temperatures etc. Japanese Giant Hornets also are very different from the so-called « frelon asiatique » presently spreading over Europe at an impressive pace. Evolution has allowed Asian HB to develop a strategy of defense that European HB, in view of those differences, should not be able to re-invent, either now, or later.
This clip shows Japanese Giant Hornets wiping out an (imported European) honeybee hive. The latter part of the clip shows "the bees' payback", according to the presentation by National Geographic. Yes but those bees are not the same anymore since they belong to a different (Japanese) species. Source : National Geographic.
